Project
Our elders
are working with the Niutuq Cultural Centre in Igloolik to
collect legends and wildlife information on audio tape, which
then will be stored on CD-ROM. Photos are being digitally
entered into computers as well. It's an important step toward
sharing and safeguarding the wisdom of past generations.

One
day it was so windy. Like a young person I would see the whole
world. Like a male they use to know where they are it remind
me of that. The heads connecting to each other and friends
holding together, to help each other. That means we work together
by our heads.

We
use to wear all handmade clothing, we were happy wearing our
mothers handmade clothing. We talk to each other being cold
and we try to warm ourselves. Playing outside with friends
that was fun. When we are not hungry with our best friend
and the people we are agree with we can share everything in
personality even though when we are anywhere, and that's our
life.

This
is the one I like. Long time ago me and my sister we use to
jiggling and trying to beat each other by jiggling we talked
and jiggle like this. Quluppajuusi.

In
winter we use to have Igloo with our family, we help each
other all the time, and we use to live where there is a water
even in the winter there is a water that never frozen in the
north. There's always water available in the winter. That
is where my father use to live. Even though there is no pond
around, my sister and I were happy because we are warm and
not hungry. We use to live eating seal, fish, caribou, polar
bear, ptarmigan, rabbit and the dogs were eating too and Inuit
use the fur for clothing but they were hunted by our father
and the furs were always made by women. Our grandfather and
our father helped us a lot now we live until today.

And
we travelled by dogteam.
