The
wisdom of Elders is what helps many people move past rocky times.
Their words are especially valuable to our young people, some
of whom feel lost between two worlds: Inuit and qallunaat.
And Elders need to connect with each other too, and get help
as well.
At the
Ilisaqsivik Family Resource Centre, Elders can meet for counselling,
or simply have a little fun playing games. Clyde River Elders
contribute greatly to our community by teaching about traditional
Inuit lifestyles, making and collecting artifacts
in order to preserve Inuit heritage, and counselling people
on personal or cultural topics.
